There are only two common types of dielectric insulation for flanged connections.
The first type - is insulating flange.
Manufactured in compliance with the size and standard of the compound used. In particular, this type of insulation is the most reliable and widely used. Insulation insert must be located between the two end fittings (flanges), ensures high integrity and completely prevents the passage of stray currents from one part of the pipeline to another. Typically such articles are made of materials with high dielectric characteristics as Polyamide (Kaprolon) or Teflon (PTFE). Material for making such an element should be selected in compliance with the temperature parameters of the product transfer and chemical resistance.
This product is frequently used at the berths of the oil and transshipment terminals, at the junction of the pipe and the flexible connection (hose) is used for supplying the product. The second type - Dielectric kits.
Also manufactured in compliance with the size and standard of the compound used. Much cheaper option comparing it with the insulation flanges. It is no less reliable and widely used. The kit consists of a dielectric gaskets, grommets, and special washers for bolts standard sizes. It is important to note that the size and length of the original screws when installing insulating kit - do not change!
The standard sleeves and insulating washers are made of caprolon or PTFE, with good dielectric properties. The insulating gasket to be installed in place of the original, can be made of different materials, and according to the customer depending on the performance and the working medium temperature.

Like any other gasket, gasket insulation package can be applied just once, unlike the insulating flange.
