Hammer Unions
HAMMER LUG
Used for quick connection of pipelines and flexible hoses in the oil and gas industry. They are commonly used in both onshore and offshore drilling rigs for pumping oil, gas, drilling mud, cement, water, air and many other substances. Pumping usually takes place at very high pressures, which can also build up quickly. A hammer is literally used to secure the joint.
In this case, the parts of the coupling are first connected manually by screwing the male to the female, forming a metal-to-metal connection, which is also fixed by an additional rubber seal. In the “mother's” part there are three earpieces through which the connection is tightened even tighter when hit with a hammer. The construction itself is extremely robust and all materials are certified as fully traceable. Therefore, such a composition can withstand both high pressure and high temperatures. Each nozzle has a number that indicates the suitability of that nozzle for a specific pressure and type of medium. This connection allows you to connect hoses with different types of threaded connections (both NPT (US thread) and BSP (European thread).
Pressure resistance: Operating range, depending on ambient temperature, is 35 bar to 1378 bar (20,000 psi).
Working fluids: Depending on the application and pressure, they can be used for industrial water hoses (up to 20 bar), pumping oil (30 bar), cement (80 bar) and for connecting to rubber hydraulic hoses (420 bar). Almost any liquid.
Specification: Specially designed coupling suitable for hydrogen sulphide (H2S) service and resistant to hydrogen emissions. Special joints (no welding) are made to connect the pipes, which are suitable for working with oil, gas, drilling fluid, water, cement, air, etc. Widely used for draining, pumping, cementing, laying pipes, pumping or emptying pipes and T. D.
